Adler, viamon pilot project sees theft protection installed in 18 MW PV park

Adler Solar, a predominately EPC and O&M provider, and PV security company, viamon GmbH, both based in Germany, concluded their pilot project in four days. It saw 263 junction boxes and 83 inverters in an 18 MW U.K. solar park retrofitted with viamon’s intelligent electronic theft protection devices.

The two, which have been working together since last October, claim to have developed "the world’s first GPS-based safety concept for PV installations." The technology is installed directly in the junction boxes, meaning it is not visible from the outside, while the GPS function enables retrieval of the stolen objects.
