Adani Group has issued a statement addressing reports of US charges against Chairperson Gautam Adani related to an alleged bribery scheme tied to solar energy contracts in India.
The company described the allegations from the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission as “baseless” and denied any wrongdoing by the directors of Adani Green.
The company noted that the US Department of Justice regards the charges as allegations, with defendants presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Adani Group confirmed it will pursue all available legal options in response to the accusations.
“Adani Group has always upheld and is steadfastly committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, transparency and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions of its operations,” it said. “We assure our stakeholders, partners and employees that we are a law-abiding organization, fully compliant with all laws.”
