Sungrow has unveiled a new 1500Vdc string inverter at Intersolar Europe 2019. The SG250HX, a standout 250 kW inverter, is now available for pre-sale.
The company claims that the SG250HX is the most powerful 1500Vdc string inverter in the world.
“Sungrow is excited to bring forth another disruptive string inverter technology to Europe, maximizing ROI for our customers at unforeseen levels,” said Stefan Froboese, technical director for Sungrow EMEA.
The inverters can be paired with bifacial modules, with 12 MPPTs and a flexible block design for up to 6.3 MW blocks. The company says the model is suitable for use in hilly utility-scale applications.
The SG250HX can withstand dry desert conditions, but can also be installed in coastal locations, as it boasts an ingress protection level of IP66 and an anti-corrosion grade of C5. It can also run at extremely high temperatures without derating, thanks to its smart forced air-cooling technology. The system also includes fault diagnostic and IV-curve scan functions for simpler operation and maintenance.
The SG250HX can easily be connected to battery storage systems. The system’s embedded anti-PID function also mitigates module degradation and the upgraded Power Line Communication (PLC) is designed for low installation costs without the need for additional communication wiring.
Earlier this month, Sungrow signed a 400 MW inverter supply deal with Enel Green Power Chile. The Chinese manufacturer will provide its 1500 Vdc central inverters for a PV plant that Enel Green Power Chile is building at Copiapó.
