French BIPV glass manufacturer Sunpartner has announced that it will open a new manufacturing facility in Rousset, near Aix-en-Provence, southern France.
The company added it has also secured €15 million in financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The funds, Sunpartner said, will be used to establish its commercial infrastructure, invest in R&D and further expand its manufacturing capacity. Including this new loan, the company has raised approximately €70 million in financing to date.
The company signed last year a joint venture agreement with Vinci Construction on the back of which it launched two new products: a solar window called Horizon D, and a solar glass curtain wall dubbed Horizon E.
Sunpartners specializes in the manufacturing of the semi-transparent WYSIPS Design-Glass, which can be used in construction, especially in smart cities. The company signed a partnership agreement with German BIPV specialist Avancis in September 2016.
