Norwegian solar panel manufacturer REC Group has announced the expansion of its unique channel program in India’s solar rooftop market, with a partnership with Redington confirmed during the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2017, held last month.
The program has already been successful in Europe and parts of the Asia Pacific region, including Japan and Sri Lanka.
The REC Partner program sees REC provide distributors with a portfolio of services and tools to grow their solar business.
REC says that the benefits of this program are access to a dedicated portal, access to commercial documents flash data, marketing support and technical training material to enable good quality solar installs.
Redington has become India’s first platinum partner for the REC Program. Redington is well positioned as one of the largest supply chain solution providers in emerging markets.
The platinum partnership was awarded by Milan Koev, Vice President sales & marketing for Asia Pacific at REC Group along with Rohit Kumar, who heads the Indian operations.
Kumar said: “We have been able to secure more than 100 solar installers and system integrator customers in less than a year, through our distribution partner Redington.
“One of the strategic reasons to enter into smaller and regional markets was to work through a respected distributor with a pan-India presence, which is what Redington has.”
