Midsummer will supply two DUO production tools to the unnamed client by the end of 2017. The tools are to be manufactured at the company’s facility outside of the Swedish capital Stockholm. The DUO tool is a fully automated deposition system for the manufacture of CIGS thin-film panels.
“Our DUO system is now the most widely spread manufacturing too for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world,” states Midsummer CEO Sven Lindtröm. “We have yet again shown that we are the leading provider of advanced solar energy technology solutions for the production and installation of thin-film solar panels. Swedish technology is at the forefront of the race towards a fossil free planet, and we look forward to the future.”
Financial details of this order have not been disclosed. Midsummer is one of several thin-film equipment suppliers to post strong financial results in 2016/17, as several large scale CIGS production facilities are on their way to being installed in China.
