Meyer Burger has launched the latest update to its well-known MAiA production system. The MAiA EVO integrates processes for rear side passivation and front anti reflective coating into one system, which the equipment provider states that can reduce both operating costs and space requirements for a production line, thus further reducing the production cost of solar cells.”

“Meyer Burger will continue to expand its outstanding market position in the PERC segment, said Chief Commercial officer Michael Escher. “MAiA EVO also gives us the opportunity to expand our market share in the highly competitive market for antireflex coating.”

Leading Chinese mono-crystalline cell manufacturer has placed the first order for the new system, which Meyer Burger says will be commissioned during the second half of 2017.

“We are very satisfied with the performance of Meyer Burger’s MAiA 2.1 system and see the integrated MAiA EVO system as an ideal solution to further decrease our production costs,” says LONGi Green Energy Technology President Li Zhenguo. “In the highly competitive PV market, an innovative solution like the MAiA EVO gives us a clear lead over the competition.”
