Heraeus Photovoltaics, the business unit of the technology group that specializes in the development and production of silver metallization pastes for the PV industry, is seeking to recruit an additional 100 staff globally as it expands its business objectives.
The unit’s current global workforce is 270, so the addition of 100 new staff is a bold move, and will augment particularly its presence in China, where more than 80 staff currently work. Heraeus confirmed that the majority of new hires will be in China, and the firm is seeking to recruit engineers, sales managers, customer service representatives and specialists in application engineering, application development and marketing.
The recruitment drive is intended to boost Heraeus’ pivot towards becoming a supplier for all existing and emerging cell technologies, the firm said in a press statement.
To achieve this, Heraeus is actively going to conduct live interviews at its booth during first day of the forthcoming SNEC show in Shanghai, China. This is part of the company’s Solar Superhero program that is concerned with delivering new PV technologies that will help to drive the continuation of lower solar costs and increased efficiencies, the company said.
“Heraeus believes that the costs of renewable energy will be decreased further by 50% in the next five years, and that Heraeus technologies will be able to contribute to one third to this challenge,” said Heraeus Photovoltaics president Andreas Liebheit. “We therefore need Superheroes to help to achieve these objectives. Working together on global challenges is pricelessly self-satisfying and a lot of fun to work on.”
