The Energy Storage Europe fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, has set another record this year with over 4,200 trade visitors. By lunchtime on the second day there were more registered visitors than recorded over the entire three days of the 2016 event, said the fair’s organizer Hans Werner Reinhard.
Visitors drawn from more than 55 countries serve to highlight the international profile of the event. In a video interview with pv magazine, Reinhard spoke candidly about the conference’s past and future. At the beginning of 2012, the event consisted of little more than a small conference room, while now it is a huge fair hosting several parallel conferences at the same time.
What’s more, there are now also satellite events in the United States, India, China and Japan. Reinhard believes that what distinguishes the fair is its wide range of represented storage technologies. These include technologies for battery, thermal and mechanic storage, as well as for Power-to-X.
