The 1.65 billion yuan (US$239.9 million) facility will feature 14 production lines and comes on top of a 100 million yuan investment in an R&D centre, according to Chinese-language media reports.
Shenzhen-listed Jolywood will start to run some of the production lines in September.
In December, the backsheet supplier – based in Changshu, Jiangsu province – signed a deal with Comtec Clean Energy to cooperate on the development of n-type photovoltaic products.
Through the end of 2018, Comtec will supply Jolywood with n-type super monocrystalline wafers at the preferential price of 20.4 million yuan for testing purposes.
Last May, Jolywood signed a deal to cooperate with Xian Longi Silicon Materials on the development of monocrystalline PV cells and modules.
