Jordan continues to lead the Middle East region for solar deployment, just weeks after the announcement of a record low tariff for the country.
The 3 commercial projects will cover 100% of electricity needs for the Marriot Amman Hotel, Marriot Dead Sea and Petra and Sheraton Hotel. 3G-ERES was contracted as the consultancy for the Hotel groups Arab International Hotels, Business Tourism Company and Dawliyah for Hotels & Malls. 3G-ERES will continue to work on the projects post construction to monitor performance and ensure an optimal O&M setup.
Energoya provided mechanical construction and ancillary services to Enerray Spa for the project in Ma’an, which will provide energy to the national grid. “With this project Energoy SL reinforces its strategic move for the Jordan solar PV market, says a company press release. “We have already achieved a total installation volume of over 250 MW worldwide.
The Marriot Amman (2.6 MW) and Sheraton Hotel (3.5 MW) plants are located close to the town of Mwaqqar, 25 km south east of Amman. The Marriot Dead Sea & Petra’s plant (5 MW) is situated in the Karak district (Dhamikikhi) 80 km to the south of Amman.
“The strategic vision of the Marriot & Sheraton owners in Jordan were the key drivers for this first of its kind project,” says 3G-ERES CEO Umberto Albarosa. “This leading project in the private sector reflects Jordan’s leading role in the transition to clean energy in the Middle East region.
