The project will be designed, built and maintained by ACC, which is investing 100% of the system cost. Electricity generated from the system will be sold to Wahaha at below grid rates, ensuring operational savings throughout the life of the project.
“ACC is honored to begin cooperation with Wahaha Group on rooftop solar projects,” said CEO Thomas Lapham. “Wahaha Group is the largest food and beverage manufacturer in China, with over 80 production bases across the country. Our firms will initiate the solar program for two manufacturing bases in Zhejiang province first, anticipating tremendous potential to expand cooperation nationwide in the future.”
The agreement is another significant partnership for Hong Kong based rooftop developer. After securing US$40 million in financing from Goldman Sachs in early 2016, the company saw major expansions throughout the year. They have partnered with industry heavyweights Trina Solar to co-develop 300 MW in rooftop capacity in China, and made a deal with Canadian Solar for a further 200 MW, also located in mainland China.
