With the ability to manufacture and supply solar PV, iron-phosphate battery and e-mobility solutions, Chinas Build Your Dreams (BYD) believes it is well positioned to sustainable energy solutions to the commercial and industrial sector. In Holland, BYD has supplied brewer Heineken with a solar and e-mobility solution for its distribution facilities and operations in the country.
BYD has supplied 3 MW of rooftop solar across eight sites in the Netherlands, which it will combine 10 electric delivery trucks and electric forklifts to help meet Heinekens target of making its wholesale distribution centers 75% climate neutral. Heineken aims to supply all of its transport energy needs with renewable technology in the Randstad region by 2020.
SolarAccess and the Tridos Renewable Europe Fund have partnered with Heineken and BYD on the project. SolarAccess has previously worked with BYD and Heineken on projects in Holland, Belgium, the UK and Italy.
The Tridos fund is financing the Heineken project and has previously worked with Fenecon and BYD on a 1 MW array in Germany.
