India: SECI, DMRC sign MOU for 500 MW of solar

The MOU will see a number of "off site," – i.e. not on DMRC locations – solar PV projects installed in India’s national capital region, including New Delhi, and surrounding urban areas in the neighboring states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

According to a statement on SECI’s website today, the initial phase will involve the installation of 500 MW of ground-mounted projects over a three year period. While DMRC will enter into relevant long-term PPAs, SECI will both own and operate the projects.

"For implementation of the MoU, an ‘Action Plan' would be developed, and a Joint Development Team (JDT), consistingof senior officials from both the organizations, would be formed," read the statement.
