A new U.S. e-mobility customer has contracted Manz to supply a 12 million Li-ion battery production line for stacked pouch cells.
Under the terms of the agreement, the unidentified customer, a "leading" battery manufacturer, has the option to add further production lines in both the U.S. and China. "The orders of the US battery manufacturer for a production line for stacked pouch cells reflect the increasing customer activity in the e-mobility sector," said Manz in a statement released.
Since the beginning of the year, Manz has secured new and follow-up orders totaling some 100 million in its energy storage business. Commenting on the increased activity in the e-mobility secotr, CEO, Dieter Manz said, "In view of the increasing momentum, we see very good opportunities for obtaining additional orders from this industry."
