Israeli PV tech group SolarEdge has signed a distribution deal with German renewable energy group BayWa r.e.
As part of the agreement, BayWa r.e. — one of the largest suppliers of solar installations in Germany — will offer SolarEdge's DC-optimized inverter systems.
SolarEdge specializes in inverters, power optimizers and monitoring solutions at the module level.
"We have seen for some time that the market demand for power electronics at the module level is growing and are therefore looking forward to the partnership with SolarEdge, the world leader in this technology," says BayWa r.e. CEO Günter Haug. "SolarEdges DC-optimized inverters represent a strategic addition to our product portfolio."
According to SolarEdge, its inverter systems increase the yield of PV systems, enable flexible system design, reduce maintenance costs and offer a very high level of system security. In addition to the increasing interest in the technology, SolarEdge said its international track record was crucial in BayWa r.e.s decision to carry its products. SolarEdge systems have been installed in more than 70 countries with different requirements and grid properties.
"We are delighted to be partnering with a like-minded company that has made it its mission to provide quality products and services for the solar industry," says Joachim Nell, SolarEdges general manager for Central Europe. "The partnership with BayWa r.e. will increase our reach in the German solar market and make our technology even more accessible to installers.
BayWa r.e. is a 100% subsidiary of Munich-based BayWa AG and comprises BayWa group's renewable energy businesses.
