Chint Power PID prevention tech awarded innovation patent

Chinese solar power company Chint Power Systems (CPS) has today been awarded an innovation patent by the Chinese Intellectual Property Office for the development of its potential induced degradation (PID) prevention technology, Energy Balancer.

The anti-PID technology has been designed to prevent PID on PV panels by monitoring the inverter’s working condition and reversing the voltage whenever the inverter stops working. This process serves to prevent the PID effect and extend the service life of PV panels to which the technology is applied.

Having been awarded the patent, CPS has since begun the process of auditing the Energy Balancer technology and hopes to apply its intellectual property rights immediately, both domestically and in international markets.

Upon receiving the accolade, CPS stressed the importance the company places on new technology research and transformation. "Chint Power Systems highly focuses on the patent acquisition by propagating the company culture of technology innovation and revolution among staff," read a company statement.
