Power-One states that it designed the inverter according to voltage and current values required by the battery to ensure the safety and longevity of the battery. Power-One also plans to add basic load management outputs and an auxiliary AC output which will allow operation of the system in the event of a blackout. The solution can be expanded up to 9kWh. Power-One additionally launches three-phase string inverters designed for the residential market: the AURORA TRIO-5.8-TL-OUTD, AURORA TRIO-7.5-TL-OUTD, and AURORA TRIO-8.5-TL-OUTD. With an output of 5.8, 7.5, and 8.5kW respectively, the products are Power-One’s smallest three-phase string inverters rounding out the broad line of AURORA TRIO products. The compact, transformerless AURORA TRIO inverters benefit from a redesigned topology used in the AURORA TRIO 20.0-TL-OUTD and AURORA TRIO 27.6-TL-OUTD models, thereby ensuring high conversion efficiencies across a wide input voltage range as the company states. A high-speed MPPT algorithm allows for real time power tracking as well as improved energy harvesting. Featuring a double MPPT, the AURORA TRIO-7.5 and AURORA TRIO-8.5 can harvest energy from two sub-arrays with different orientations giving maximum flexibility for optimal energy production.
