According to CERA, 553 applications were submitted by companies between July 23 and October 15. Of these, 21 applicants dropped their project proposals and 181 failed to gather the required documents.

Of the 351 which went through, 18 were granted public subsidies according to the Cypriot program for renewable energy subsidies for the years 2012 and 2013. Tariffs for on-grid photovoltaic plants between 7 and 150 kW are €0.25/kWh

The remaining applications are expected to be considered in 2013, when the state program for energy subsidies for the years 2013 and 2014 is announced.

As of 2011, Cyprus had a total of 10.5 MW of installed photovoltaics, distributed across a number of small systems.
