Without fanfare, the agency announced that around 450 MW and 200 MW were installed in January and February, respectively. Detailed data for the first quarter will be published "at a later date", said the agency on its website. Meanwhile, the photovoltaic figures for March are expected to be made public next month.
Various media had previously reported that newly installed photovoltaic capacity in the first quarter of 2012 would reach around 1.8 gigawatts (GW). In March alone, therefore, it is expected that approximately 1.1 GW was added to the grid, according to the Financial Times Deutschland.
