The Arlington Valley Solar Energy II Project, which will be located in Maricopa County, Arizona, across 1,160 acres of land, has reportedly secured all the major permits. Financing has also been closed and a power purchase agreement executed by AVSE II.

While the transaction value has not been disclosed, Flour says it has been given full notice to proceed and book the project value into backlog in the fourth quarter of 2011.

In a statement released, the company adds that engineering and procurement are already underway at its South Californian operations center. Overall, the photovoltaic system is scheduled to begin commercial operations by the end of 2013.

"This project brings many benefits to the State of Arizona and Maricopa County, including construction and operations jobs with local business opportunities and longer-term benefits from tax revenues," commented John King, executive vice president of LS Power Group, of which AVSE II is a member.
