9REN builds two PV systems worth three MW in Italy

The ground mounted installations comprise over 12,400 modules of around 130 watts each. Appropriate landscaping, to help both installations blend into their surrounds, surrounds the systems. Pittosporum perimeter hedges and olive trees where chosen for the landscaping.

The two installations brings the total 9REN turnkey installations to seven, providing a cumulative installed capacity of 10 MW.

The three month installation is a record for the 9REN company and indicates the conditions in the Italian market, as solar power plant construction surges ahead of legislative changes coming into effect shortly.

Helios Slr is a Sicilian company with a further four photovoltaic plants planned, two in Sicily and two in southern Piedmont, where it is headquartered. While 9REN has recently moved into the British and Israeli markets, many of their 92MW of installations are in Italy and Spain.

9REN installation in Italy appears to be running close to full capacity at present, with the company announcing in early June that they had completed 16 photovoltaic plants worth 25 MW. The installations occurred simultaneous and had completion dates all within a two week period.
