Self-consumption increases and electricity bills are therefore reduced according to the company. If more electricity is generated than is being used, the system charges the battery. If the consumption is higher, the battery feeds additional energy into
the houses electrical system.
With poor weather, in the night or if there are power outages, the battery system in combination with the Sunny Backup charge controller switches to battery operation and closes the supply gap. Both new and existing SolarWorld solar power systems can be easily expanded with the battery system. The user can monitor the solar power consumption and its generation using the Suntrol display software on, for example, the iPod Touch.
