QMC is to act as an innovative sales network of selected local installers who offer residential photovoltaic solutions using Q-Cells modules to Japanese end-customers. QMC will deliver Japanese customers solar system kits, including solar modules, inverters, mounting systems, monitoring systems, cables and other components, for their roof-top installations from a single source.
With QMC, the company will provide for the residential market in Japan which holds 90 percent of overall Japanese photovoltaic market share with a forecast volume of one gigawatt peak in 2011. Q-Cells installed its first residential system of 9.87 kilowatts-peak in Osaka in March this year.
QMC already has 30 members and its members are offered installation and sales training by Q-Cells. "Our German engineering solar modules match the quality of the components of our selected local partners and meet the high quality requirements of Japanese customers," says Steffen Studeny, managing director of Q-Cells Japan.
Q-Cells already has an office in Tokyo selling its Q.PRO and Q.BASE as well as thin film modules Q.SMART.
