According to the companies, Q-Cells’ products will be used in select commercial and utility scale solar projects.

When the cells will be delivered, and how much the agreement is worth, however, has not been disclosed.

"Since 2005, the solar industry has grown more than 60 percent per anum and is expected to expand another 34 gigawatts by 2015, according to industry experts," said Marc van Gerven, CEO of Q-Cells North America. "Q-Cells helps to define the industry’s standards for quality and reliability and this agreement gives us the unique opportunity to address this growing global demand."
