Financial investor Granville Baird GmbH, based in Hamburg, acquired Meier Solar Solutions in the summer of 2008. Over the course of 2009, there was a legal dispute between the parties leading to the necessity of insolvency. The goal of the insolvency action is to allow the new owner to resume "healthy operations" and maintain the approximately 100 jobs in Bocholt/NRW and Rossla/Saxonia-Anhalt.
The head of Meier Solar Solutions, Florian von Gropper stated: "A bankruptcy situation has its benefits. Bad debts can be shaken off and the company can once again put its energy into its products and customers. Servicing and parts of supply can be thus safeguarded for the future."
