Insolvency administrator, Christian Köhler-Ma, who was appointed by the Charlottenburg District Court on June 25, said in a statement released that he felt confident following initial discussions with management and other stakeholders.
"As a world leader in flexible thin film solar cells from copper indium gallium diSelenide (CIGS), the Berlin-based company is likely to be of interest to investors," he stated, adding, "Therefore, we have immediately started looking for investors to achieve restructuring."
Global Solar Energy has been manufacturing its CIGS modules in Berlin-Adlershof since 2008. The 133 strong workforce has been protected, in the short term, until the end of August, via an insolvency fund.
